Unleash your creativity and become a master of storytelling in The Playwrights’ Room! This course is designed for Performers who are eager to dive into the world of scriptwriting and bring their own original ideas to life on stage.  Throughout the week, students will learn the art of playwriting, from developing intriguing characters and crafting engaging plots to writing dynamic dialogue. With expert guidance, students will collaborate to create their own short plays, exploring themes, character arcs, and dramatic tension. In addition to writing, students will have the opportunity to direct and perform their works, gaining valuable experience in both playwriting and performance. The Playwrights’ Room is the perfect course for anyone who dreams of writing for the stage, providing a creative and supportive environment to develop new theatrical voices.

Description

This course runs from 9am – 4pm Monday to Friday and is designed to teach students a variety of performance skills that they will then showcase at the end of the week in front of family and friends. Please arrive between 8:45 and 9:00 and pick up at 4pm. We offer late pick up until 5:30pm, but this must be pre-booked by enrolling in our ‘Stage Door Club’ course. Students are asked to bring their own lunches and water bottles. It is advised students wear or bring sunscreen as when the weather is nice, we enjoy lunches outside.
